DiagnosisX Authoring Tool (release 1.2.9, 22/10/2009)

  • Corrected an issue with version checking.
  • Resizing flash objects, flash videos and images should function better.
  • Corrected an error where nothing was selected, but actions could still be performed.
  • Corrected an error when trying to replace one media object with another (or text).
  • Assessment nodes with media will now display the correct icon.
  • Users are now warned about unavailable features before previewing.
  • The preview and publish menu items are no longer available when an internet connection is not available.
  • Corrected the background color of edit assessment dialog.

  • Corrected an error where a question is placed incorrectly into the case when performing the undo action after removing the question.
  • Added multiple choice questions with the following scoring categories: score, pre-test, post-test. More categories will be available at a later time
  • The authoring tool will now correctly detect when another instance of DX has placed a question, assessment or section on the clipboard.
  • Corrected an error that could result in the corruption of a case while saving.

  • A crash during a save operation will not corrupt the case file.

  • Corrected an error within the error handling code for previewing/publishing a lecture.
  • Cases are now assigned a unique identifier to prevent server side collisions.
  • Case unique identifiers are altered when using the “File | Save As” command.
  • Corrected an error when to categories have the same name.
  • Case files now have versions assigned.  The website will no longer support case files authored with an older version of the authoring tool.
  • Saving a case in the current authoring tool will always save the case in the correct version.
  • Now checks to ensure the authoring tool is up to date before allowing a preview or publish.
  • The background color of section and question editing dialogs are now colored differently.
  • Added a template for University of Calgary

The root node in the outline view now has an associated context menu
  • An error involved during with the first node not expanding has been corrected

  • A fix has been implemented for the occasional crashes during preview/publish

  • A command to ensure you’re using the latest version of the software has been added to the help menu.

  • A message has been added to the edit section dialog indicating that the description will not be visible for sections of depth 1 and 2.

  • Cut/copy/paste of questions and sections now works.  Associated media is not copied, nor are subsections/sub-questions.

  • You can open a case directly by double clicking on the .case file.  The application will start and load the case automatically.

  • Icons for the various files have been added.

  • The Mrs. B Starter Case has had media added to it.

  • Corrected an issue with disappearing/crashing Flash multimedia objects.

  • When saving for the first time, if your case does not have a title it will automatically receive one based on the file name.

  • CBLS has been dropped in favour of DiagnosisX.

  • Media assets can now be resized properly.

  • Images will now be scaled to reasonable sizes for web-display.

  • The crash related to adding a media object twice to the same case has been corrected.

  • Improved error handling.  An error while executing a command should no longer crash the program.

  • When an unexpected error occurs, the option to save a report of the error is no given, along with a link to the technical support website.  Please take the time to send in the report.

  • Cases are now backed up before saving.  This is a temporary solution.  If you need to load from your backup, please contact technical support.
